NIBA Seminar Update
NIBA's Education/Technical Committee offers on-target seminars for members. With the focus to enhance the knowledge and value vital to the belting markets, our 2007 seminars trained 60 persons and earned an average performance rating of 4.5 (out of 5). Many thanks to those who made Heavyweight Belt Splicing, Lightweight Belt Splicing, and Track, Train, Troubleshoot for Heavyweight Belting a success.
Following are 2008 seminar offerings:
Track, Train, Troubleshoot for Heavyweight Belting
October 22-23, 2008
Grand Rapids, Michigan
This seminar is designed to educate and add real world value to those who are in the business of providing solutions to conveyor operational problems. To gain valuable knowledge, detailed instruction will focus on industry standards versus real world application of conveyor performance.
Interactive classroom discussion will cover cause and effect of
- Tracking and Training,
- Transition Distances,
- Rated Versus Operating PIW,
- Belt Maintenance,
- Belt Wear Characteristics,
- Other Influences Problematic to Maximizing Belt Life.
The keystone of the training will be a site visit to a producing sand and gravel operation. Participants will apply their classroom knowledge critiquing operational conveyors and "working" on a staged conveyor for problem solving.
Check back for additional information and registration in August.
