NIBA Scholarships

NIBA supports continuing and higher education by providing scholarships through the NIBA Education Fund, a not-for-profit foundation.

Ray Snow Memorial Scholarship - Available to NIBA Distributor/Fabricators

This new member benefit was approved by the NIBA Board of Directors at the recommendation of the Strategic Planning Committee.

The scholarship is two annual awards of $4,000 to candidates pursuing a minimum 2-year course of study at an accredited college, university or technical school who demonstrates exceptional qualifications in the areas of scholarship and scholastic achievement, leadership, community service activities and ambition.

All children of associates who are employed by active NIBA Distributor/Fabricator members are eligible to apply with only two minor exceptions:

  • Children of officers, directors, or shareholders with greater than 5% equity in a NIBA member company
  • Children of presiding officers or Board members of NIBA

Winners will be selected annually following a review of all applicants by members of NIBA's Education and Training Committee. Candidate applications must be returned to NIBA headquarters postmarked May 1 or before to be considered for the scholarship award. The winners of this year's scholarships will be announced in early June.

Ray Snow was indeed a special person whose tenacity, dedication and commitment to improvement of the belting industry through education were hallmarks of his service to our Association. These qualities were clearly evident during Ray's lengthy bout with cancer, which ended tragically in February 1998. NIBA is proud to honor those qualities through this scholarship.
